Learn about the five key brushes you should be thinking about when getting your first set, and how to choose the right one depending on the application.
1) Foundation Brush
Choose a brush with a lot of bristles packed into the tip, it makes it sturdier and stiffer for wet makeup application. Synthetic fibers are preferred as synthetic hairs soak up less product than natural hair. It will save you product and be easier to clean.
2) Bronzer brush
Angled brush with less packed bristles and no hard edges. The angle will give you precision when you apply your bronzer. Choose natural hair for a smooth application.
3) Blush brush
The tip should be rounded with fine natural bristles to deposit color slowly and build up, instead of a blob of color.
4) Eye shadow brush
A small, flat brush with soft natural bristles and a rounded tip to apply all-over eye shadow color. You get a smooth finish with intense pigment without dragging your lid.
5) Eye shadow blending brush
Long dome-shape brush with a rounded tip. The loose soft natural bristles fan out to diffuse eyeshadow.
